This undergraduate course provides basic knowledge and skills of database system with a focus on the main concepts and benefits of database system over traditional data management systems, designing of database systems (conceptual, logical and physical design), data storage, indexing and retrieval in a database system. It integrates both theoretical discussions with practical exercises in database definition and manipulation through applying various SQL commands.
