This course offers an overview of aquatic ecosystems, including marine, freshwater, and wetlands, with a focus on Ethiopia’s major lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Key topics include ecological principles such as zonation, community structure, and functional feeding groups; the impacts of water pollution and contaminants; catchment interactions; and the role of fisheries resources. The course also examines integrated water resource management.
