Adolescent Health


This course deals with adolescents and youth, and specifically about their reproductive and sexual health issues.

Enrollment in this course is by invitation only

This module deals with the cognitive, physical and behavioral developments of adolescents; the causes and major types of adolescent reproductive and other health problems; the major causes and determinants of morbidity and mortality related to RH problems among adolescents & youths and interventions to improve adolescent reproductive health and wellbeing for a smooth transition to adulthood.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  1. Describe physiological, psychological, emotional and social aspects of normal adolescent growth and development
  2. Identify common reproductive and other health problems of adolescents and youths including their causes and determinants.
  3. Design appropriate interventions for adolescent and youth reproductive health problems.
  4. Assess and plan health services for adolescents and youth – including Adolescent and Youth Friendly Services (AYFS)
